GIFT CARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Last updated: 08.09.2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the purchase, activation and use of gift cards and gift vouchers, whether issued as a physical card or as a digital/e-gift card (together, “Gift Cards”), sold by Sprout & Co, a company registered in Ireland under company number 569554 with its registered office at 45 James Place, Dublin, D02 TD76 (“we”, “us”, “our”). By purchasing, receiving or redeeming a Gift Card, the purchaser and any subsequent holder (“you”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

These Terms are governed by Irish law, including the Consumer Protection (Gift Vouchers) Act 2019, which sets out minimum statutory protections for consumers. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under that Act or other applicable consumer protection law. Where any term below conflicts with a right you have under the Act, the Act prevails.

1. Types of Gift Card
We issue the following types of Gift Card:

  • Physical Gift Card – a card with a unique code or barcode, purchased in-store.
  • Digital Gift Card (e-Gift Card) – a code delivered by email or through our website or app, redeemable online and/or in-store.
Both types of Gift Card carry the same value, validity period and redemption rights unless otherwise stated at the point of sale.

2. Validity and Expiry

  • Every Gift Card is valid for a minimum of five (5) years from the date of purchase, in accordance with the Consumer Protection (Gift Vouchers) Act 2019.
  • The expiry date will be shown on the physical card, in the order confirmation, or in the email accompanying a digital Gift Card.
  • If no expiry date is stated, the Gift Card is deemed valid for five (5) years from the date of purchase.
  • A replacement Gift Card issued under Section 6 will not expire earlier than the Gift Card it replaces.

3. Purchasing and Activation

  • Gift Cards can be purchased in-store or online at Sprout & Co Kitchen Ltd
  • Gift Cards are activated at the point of sale and are ready to use immediately, unless stated otherwise.
  • We accept no liability for Gift Cards that are lost, stolen or misused before they reach the intended recipient.
  • Gift Cards cannot be purchased using another Gift Card, unless we expressly state otherwise.
  • Gift Cards are not a deposit account, are not covered by any deposit guarantee scheme, and do not earn interest.

4. Redeeming Your Gift Card

  • Gift Cards can be redeemed against goods and services available in-store at participating locations or on our website, subject to availability.
  • You are not required to spend the full balance of a Gift Card in a single transaction.
  • You may use more than one Gift Card to pay for a single transaction.
  • If the value of your purchase exceeds the Gift Card balance, you must pay the difference by another accepted payment method.
  • Gift Cards cannot be exchanged, refunded or redeemed for cash, except where required by law.

5. Remaining Balance
If, after a purchase, more than €1 remains on your Gift Card, we will return the balance to you. We may do this by cash, by electronic transfer, or by issuing a new Gift Card, at our discretion. Any replacement Gift Card issued under this Section will carry an expiry date no earlier than that of the original Gift Card. You can check your Gift Card balance online here or in restaurant.

6. Lost, Stolen or Damaged Gift Cards

  • Gift Cards are treated like cash. If a Gift Card is lost or stolen, we are not obliged to replace it or refund its value.
  • Where a Gift Card has been personalised to a named individual and is non-transferable, we may, at our discretion, issue a replacement on production of satisfactory proof of purchase and identity.
  • If a physical Gift Card is damaged but the unique code remains legible, we will honour the remaining balance.
  • There is no fee for correcting or updating the name associated with a Gift Card.

7. Fees
We do not charge a fee to purchase, activate or redeem a Gift Card. [If any fee applies — for example, a delivery charge for physical cards, or an inactivity fee on digital wallets — it will be clearly disclosed to you before purchase, and any such fee will be proportionate to our actual costs of providing the Gift Card.]

8. Digital / Electronic Money Gift Cards
Where a Gift Card can be used across multiple, unrelated retailers (rather than solely with us), it may constitute electronic money and fall within the scope of the European Communities (Electronic Money) Regulations 2011. Where this applies, we will provide additional information required by that legislation, including details of the issuer, before you purchase the card.

9. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds

  • If you return goods purchased with a Gift Card in line with our standard returns policy, the refund will be issued to the Gift Card (or a replacement Gift Card), not to cash or a bank card, unless required by law.
  • Promotional or bonus Gift Cards issued as part of a marketing offer may be subject to additional terms, which will be provided at the time of issue.

10. If We Cease Trading
In the unlikely event that Sprout & Co ceases trading before your Gift Card is fully redeemed, you may be entitled to make a claim as an unsecured creditor. We recommend redeeming Gift Cards promptly and retaining proof of purchase.

11. Our Liability
We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use, or inability to use, a Gift Card, except where such loss arises from our negligence or breach of these Terms, or where liability cannot be excluded under Irish law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or our business practices. Any change will not affect Gift Cards already purchased, other than where required by law. The current version of these Terms will always be available at Sprout & Co – Home

13. Governing Law and Complaints
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts will have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence. If you have a complaint, please contact us at feedback@sproutfoodco.com. You may also refer a complaint to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) or, for cross-border EU purchases, the European Consumer Centre Ireland.
